Can a Child Really be Stressed Out?

http://www.godaycare.com/childcarearticles/20

Many children feel the pressures of problems at home, the push to excel no matter the cost, to be like a sibling, of peers and much more.  It is important as educators that we learn the signs of stress in our students so that we can be a part of the solution and not add to their stress.

  1. I found this information helpful. As adults, we have days that we are totally stressed and we expect the "world" to cut us a little slack. I can see where children in the classroom would want to be extended the same respect. Many students have homelives that require them to deal with adult stressors. As teachers, we need to be sensitive to this issue. I want to be the kind of teacher that is in tune with the emotional needs in the classroom, as well as, the academic needs.
