Are competitive sports really healthy for children? Is it the child or the adult that puts the pressure on to win? As games are played in and out of the classroom it is important that teachers learn what is good competition and what is a bad loser. Teachers must also learn how to encourage the best benefits of competition.
Parents are the main problem when it comes to taking the fun out of sports. There is so much pressure to have the strongest, fastest, most coordinated child amoung parents. Sports can be so much fun and a great learning tool but when parents demand so much from their children, the fun can be sucked out.
